I'm having a blast here in NoCal. It's been great seeing everyone, and an actual update will follow after I get back home. I fly out tomorrow, and while I don't want to leave, I sure do miss the hubster.
I just got online to say that Alex and I had Zachary's pizza for lunch today, and it was the yumm!!! Oh, and last night, Deb and Joey took us to Fenton's....

I know I've mentioned before that I have the best husband ever. You probably thought I was exaggerating or speaking in hyperbole. But no.
For the holidays, Dan adopted me a wolf at Wolf Park, which means I get to go in the wolf enclosure, and if I'm lucky, give Wolfgang (my wolf) a belly rub!!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I get to play with the wolves!!!! *SQQUUEEEEALLLLL*

My flight out was uneventful, barring an extra hour spend in Kansas City airport. It was a pain-in-the-butt airport, since almost all of the food and bathrooms were outside security. I didn't actually realize I'd exited until after I'd done it. Sigh. Three hours there was a bit much, but you deal.
Got my luggage and rental car with no problem, and headed down to San Diego. For a change, I haven't had a thousand plans, so I've spent a lot of time with the friends I'm staying with and their three kids (twin almost-6-yr-old boys and a 4-yr-old girl). It's been fun, but (as you can imagine) rather chaotic. Saturday, MA and I had a little girl-time (pedicure--with flowers on our toes!), then we went to a friend of theirs' child's birthday party at Build A Bear. Needless to say, I spent most of it in Barnes & Noble! Although I confess, they had some very cute things....
Yesterday, one of the boys had a piano recital. He did a really good job. There was one girl (she was 15, and had been taking lessons for 10 yrs) who was incredibly good, at least to my untrained ear. I was pretty impressed. Last night, I had dinner with an old roommate, her hubby, and their son. (Hmmm, come to think of it, he's an old roommate, too; I rented a room from them after I graduated.)
They just got back, so we're off to the park. Coffee first, though! More later.
Sigh. Someone's crying again. There've been a lot of meltdowns since I got here.

I'm leaving for CA for TurkeyDay tomorrow morning. Happy, happy! All I have to do is pack...
Oh, I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning the firehose that escaped on the freeway that Dan ran over. Anyway, the cost for the repairs to the undercarriage was $3000. After promising to arrange payment with the bodyshop, The Idiot never did, and continued to ignore phone messages. After talking with the insurance company, it turns out they insure the fire department, but The Idiot isn't a fireman, he's a contractor who was returning it to the fire department after some repair work. Therefore, they're not liable. So, looks like we're going to have to take him to small claims court. Grrrr. Dan's going to send him a letter, telling him that if we haven't received payment by a certain date, we're going to file.
